I am so glad you came to visit my site. This is my 27th year in education, and my seventh in 1st Grade! I am so excited!

My very favorite teacher was Mrs. Hettinger at Mokapu Elementary School in Hawaii. She was my 1st Grade teacher and I have never forgotten her, nor what she taught me.  My hope is that I will be that teacher to all my students this year.

I have lived here in North County since I was 10 years old.  I went to school in Oceanside before going to Cal State Long Beach to major in physical therapy. After three years there, I transferred to a small college in Missouri and changed my major to elementary education - a much better fit.

I moved back to California in 1997 and have worked for Carlsbad Unified School District ever since. I started at Kelly Elementary and moved to Calavera Middle School in 2004. In 2010, I was became the Technology TOSA for the district.  And now, I'm at Hope!

During my time at Kelly Elementary, I was awarded a Fulbright Teacher Exchange and moved to Scotland to teach for one year.  That was an incredible year.  My oldest son and I now love to travel as a result. At 9 years old, he had been to 13 countries!

I have have three sons; Matthew is 28 and lives/works here in North County with his family; Charlie, 13, is a 8th grader at Calavera Hills Middle; and Jack, 12, is in 7th grade.  I even have a granddaughter -  Chanel is two years old.

Honestly, my two favorite things to do are read and hang out with my family. My boys and Chanel never fail to keep me from being bored.

I look forward to a great year!
