Annual Residency Verification - All Students

Each fall, students are required to confirm residency. This applies to ALL students including new kindergarteners. This includes completing and bringing the following:

1) Update the Aeries parent portal by completing the Data Confirmation and print the Student Emergency Card.

2) Complete the Annual Residency Declaration and Signature Verification for each student.

3) Bring two proofs of residency (i.e. recent SDG&E and water bills BEFORE you pay them, we need to see the top & bottom halves). These must be recent - within 30 days. We ask that you make a copy of the two proofs of residency to streamline the registration process.

Thank you in advance!!

Once you have turned in all required documents to the school office (open August 14th, 2019) you will receive information via email to set up your parent portal where you will be able to see your child’s data and make any future changes to contact information.

The classroom assignments for new first through fifth grade students, along with all returning students, will be available via the Aeries Parent Portal at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

The first day of school is Wednesday, August 28th. We are looking forward to seeing you soon!

School Supplies: Teachers will provide school supply lists of recommended or wish list items at their Back to School night. It is helpful if students have a backpack to start school to facilitate transporting items to and from school. Necessary school supplies are provided by the school (paper, pencils, crayons, etc.).

Why all the forms?

We require verification of residency as a way to establish your legal right to attend our school. Many parents want their student to attend Hope, but don't have a legal right to attend.  If you know of someone who does not live within the Carlsbad Unified School District boundary, please let us know so we can correct their deceptive practice. A good education should not start with compromising a person's integrity. Thank you.

Here's a link to an article about a school district that had to turn to the court system to enforce their residency requirements.  This woman received jail time for using deceptive practices to register her students in school.
