FOOD DRIVE: Our local GIRL SCOUT troop will be doing a canned food drive this entire week. This is a way to give back to the community and support those who are trying to make healthy choices.

Be on the look out for Red Ribbon Week Randy -- he is hiding in a different spot everyday of this week.  When you spot him, keep it a secret and see if others can find him too!

MONDAY: Wear Red!

We will hand out ribbons and bracelets to students.

Activity: Make RRW posters during recess and lunch.

Also: Red Ribbon Week kick off Assembly with Red Ribbon Ruby!

TUESDAY: Be Your Best!  Dress to Impress!

Goal/Activity: To emphasize making the healthy choice to be the best you can be in all that you do!

WEDNESDAY: Be Yourself!  (Students can dress how they want, including costumes)

Goal: To emphasize the healthy choice of being yourself, being proud of who you are, loving your differences, etc.

Activity: Each student is encouraged to wear their Hope Spirit Shirt or a Team Jersey as we team up to show Kindness.

THURSDAY: Move Your Feet: Crazy Sock Day!

Goal: To emphasize the healthy choice of exercise, moving around, and not just staying indoors or being on electronics.

Activity: Freeze Dancing during Recess!

FRIDAY: Be Kind!  TEAM Up for Kindness!

Goal: To emphasize the healthy choice of being kind to others and not having negativity in your mind and heart.

Activity: Wear your favorite team jersey or Hope spirit wear.

This video was made especially for all of you Hope Elementary parents. It demonstrates something called the Stress Relief Breath (SRB), which is a simple and powerful tool to use when in a stressful moment. One of the best ways to teach our children is to practice ourselves, so we can be great role models when it's needed the most. Here's to Making Healthy Choices and a stress-free home!

Red Ribbon Week Rap 2015

Hope’s back for another year

To spread around some red ribbon cheer

If you are wondering what you have been missing

Sit right back and take a listen

On how to make healthy choices

On how to make healthy choices

If you're friend is down

Got a big old frown

Help them out to turn it around!

If you’re stressed at school

About all the rules

Don’t freak out or stomp your shoes

Stop. Breathe. Play it cool.

Stop. Breathe. (Inhale) Play it cool.

And make healthy choices

You gotta make healthy choices

You've got to feel your tums

With healthy crumbs

Exercise and rest your eyes!

And make healthy choices

You gotta make healthy choices

If someone tries to play

In an unfair way

Don't let it bring down your entire day

Be yourself in a positive way

And make healthy choices

You gotta make healthy choices

Break it down!

You never have to do what you don't want to do

You've just got to do what feels good to you

And make healthy choices

Hope Hawks!

You never have to do what you don't want to do

You've just got to do what feels good to you

And make healthy choices

You gotta make healthy choices

Look around! We're on the same team…

So put your hands up for Red Ribbon Week!

red ribbon week rap

What does it mean to make a healthy choice?

You come from your heart and you find your voice.

If you're feeling rough with the words you say

Stop, go back, and try another way.

Be kind...And help a friend,

If someone's left out, then include them in.

Get up...and move your feet,

And Fill your belly with healthy treats.

If you trip and fall, no need to fret,

You gotta learn to laugh at stuff like that!

Just breathe...and let it go

'Cuz we all got your back here at Hope!

So choose...the healthy way

And be your self every single day.

Look around...we're on the same team,

Now put your hands up for red ribbon week!!!
