Family Food Truck Night

Family Food Truck Night is almost here (Sept. 25th 4-7 PM on our blacktop)!  Join us on our blacktop as we host six different food trucks to serve you. We receive a percentage of every purchase you make.  This is a great way to be part of our Community Connection Campaign.  Your family can enjoy a night out at our school with great food, friends, and fun!

While you are there, you can challenge your student to a game of handball, tetherball, or enter the Gaga court (if you dare!).  You can also win great deals through our raffle drawing or bid on a hotel room package from Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort & Spa.  Desserts are provided by our Girl Scouts with 100% of the proceeds going to our school.  These is a cash only event.  Thank you Kat Morrow for coordinating this event!

If you can help Mrs. Morrow supervise our Raffle Table and help Mr. Tubbs and return the picnic tables to the front of the classrooms, sign up here: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/20F0B4FA8AF2A1-food

See you there!

We are halfway to our goal of $35K for our  Donation Drive to pay for Art and P.E. classes each week.  When we reach $30K, Mr. Tubbs will let the students design his next haircut with a #4 trimmer!  At $35K, they get to use a #3 trimmer!  Every amount donated helps us reach our goal.  You can still send in a check or use the PayPal link found on our webpage:  https://hope.schoolloop.com/DonationDrive

Be involved!

Interested in being part of the groups that support our school?  Visit the webpages under the Parents tab to learn more about PTA, School Site Council, and Friends of Hope School.  These groups are always looking for more volunteers to join their group to help support our school.

Common Core

Your student has new standards to master!   The Common Core State Standards offer schools, teachers, students and parents clear, understandable, and consistent standards in English language arts and mathematics. The CCSS defines the knowledge and skills students should take away from their K-12 schooling to be successfully prepared for postsecondary and career opportunities.

The Smarter Balanced Practice Tests allow teachers, students, parents, and other interested parties to experience the features of online testing and gain insight into how Smarter Balanced will assess students’ mastery of the Common Core.

We encourage you to take the practice test by following this link: http://www.smarterbalanced.org/pilot-test/
